چکیده

Abstract Background The early detection of bone metastases is very important in prostate cancer follow-up. This study aimed to compare conventional tumor markers, namely free prostate-specific antigen (free PSA), total (total PSA/total PSA ratio, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) values, Gleason scores and 99 m Tc-MDP scintigraphy findings the prediction cancer. Methods In total, 175 patients with who underwent whole-body were included study. All selected scintigraphic studies reprocessed. Free PSA, values recorded. Results results our show that presence metastasis correlates weakly ratio (rho = 0.179), 0.318) score 0.382), moderately ALP 0.539), (0.416). Only variable had a diagnostic value cutoff was 76.50 IU/L, 80% sensitivity 82.1% specificity. Conclusion According study; not considered as reliable parameter cases follow-up for development. Survival markers related to bone metastases in prostate cancer.

Prognostic value of a bone resorption marker, tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase isoform 5b (TRACP 5b), and two matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-2 and MMP-9) was compared with the standard clinical analyses of total alkaline phosphatase (tALP) and prostate-specific antigen (PSA), in prostate cancer (PC) patients with (BM+) or without (BM-) bone metastases. Diagnostic accuracy evaluation showed t...

Biology of Bone Metastases in Prostate Cancer.

Advanced-stage prostate cancer (PCa) patients are often diagnosed with bone metastases. Bone metastases remain incurable and therapies are palliative. PCa cells prevalently cause osteoblastic lesions, characterized by an excess of bone formation. The prevailing concept indicates that PCa cancer cell secrete an excess of paracrine factors stimulating osteoblasts directly or indirectly, thereby l...

Evaluation of Strontium-89 in palliative treatment of widespread and painful bone metastases due to breast and prostate cancer [Persian]

A good palliative treatment must be complete, free from side effects and fast; Thus we decided to evaluate Strontium-89 (89Sr) effectivity for palliation of breast and prostate cancer b...

Serum TRACP 5b and ICTP as markers of bone metastases in breast cancer.

BACKGROUND The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to evaluate the value of serum tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b (TRACP 5b) and carboxyterminal telopeptide of type I collagen (ICTP) separately and in combination as markers of bone metastases compared to total alkaline phosphatase (tALP) in breast cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS Two groups of patients were studied, one with verfied...
